BETSY’S STORY

Betsy is a fully restored 1967 airstream.

Discovered in upstate Wisconsin and custom rehabbed over two and a half years at the 76er!

Named in honor of Miss Betsy Ross (1752–1836),

a Philadelphia seamstress and upholsterer who, according to family legend, sewed the first American flag in 1776 after being approached by George Washington himself. Widowed at a young age, she found herself the sole owner of her upholstery business—a rare position for a woman at the time. In an era when female entrepreneurship was neither common nor encouraged, Betsy became one of America’s earliest unofficial women business owners. During the Revolution, she remarried twice, raised seven children, and left an enduring legacy as a symbol of patriotism and women’s contributions to our nation’s founding.

So, here’s to Betsy - pioneer, patriot, and trailblazer - leading the way for women owned businesses like the 76er!

HOW BETSY’S NOSH GARDEN WORKS

This is a little different from the 1776 experience you know inside or on our front patio and that’s entirely the point.

Out here, things are intentionally casual. You’ll order at the service window and take charge of your own journey.

Grab a cocktail, find a spot, linger awhile, move around, and enjoy the space however it suits you.

Casual, however, doesn’t mean we skimp on the details…. You’ll still find the same thoughtfully curated wine and cocktail offerings, seamless Riedel glassware, and the same friendly faces you know from inside. Our full-service bar is available, while the food menu is kept intentionally simple only offering Nosh and desserts.

The Nosh Garden is also meant to be enjoyed by the whole family. Bring the kids, grab a yard game, spread out and settle in. There’s room to play, room to relax and no need to rush.

Our goal is for the spaces at 1776 to flow together and meet you wherever you are. We are glad you’re here!
